Jun 24, 2007Overall: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Drink: 5 Food: NR Yasoo, Well, where do I start. I worked at Baileys Bar in 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2002. I had a great few years working alongside loads of friends in one of the busiest tourist bars and and served the best cocktials in Crete. Both 1998 and 1999 were by far the busier years. For both these years the bar was soooo, sooooo busy and without a doubt had the best atmosphere of any bar in town. Loads of tourists and workers spent nearly every night inside this bar and hopefully still have many fond and happy memories. I left in August 2002 after a hard summer and have unfortunatly not been back since. From 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 Baileys was the best tourist bar in Hersonissos. The owner (George) also owned 99's which was also a great summer bar. Unlike Baileys this bar was busy to the end of 2005 ?? when it closed. Although I have not been back since I believe both Baileys and 99's are now closed. I have heard Baileys is a restaurant and 99's a shop..... It's a real shame. This was the best chapter of my life and I'm sure many feel the same. I would love to hear any stories from people who visited Baileys. It was by far the BEST bar in Crete and like many others I really miss the hot summer nights working in a great bar and meeting great people. They were some idoits along the way but I bloomin' loved every second of living in Crete and working in this fantastic bar. Please, please review this bar. It's really important to try and keep it's spirit going. If anybody has any photographs or stories please let me know at [email protected] Due to too much alcohol I did'nt take many photo's (well I took 26 in 4 years) and would love to hear from people who have any experience of Bailey's either Good / Bad. I'm going to maybe go back this year or next summer at the latest.
